By far the most popular cruise route : Béziers – Carcassonne

Let us take you on a wonderful week of barging between Villenueve-les-Béziers — near the Mediterranean east of Béziers — up to the village of Trèbes, just outside of the fortified medieval city of Carcassonne.

One hundred kilometers of beautiful and varied countryside

Witness the beauty of the Canal du Midi as the Clair de Lune winds through a myriad of soothing landscapes and passes through 32 locks, including the spectacular flight of seven locks of Fonçerannes in Béziers, the triple lock in Trèbes, and the unique round lock at Agde, which has three exits rather than two. You'll be astounded by the Tunnel of Malpas, the first navigable canal tunnel ever to be built — a 17th century technical advancement that would not be repeated until the advent of the rail transport in the mid-19th century.

Unhurried luxury

While gently gliding along the canal at a relaxing pace you'll enjoy sumptous foods, delicious wines and pleasant daily adventures on this magnificent tree-lined canal. Bursting in bloom in spring, shady in summer, and rich in golds and reds in the autumn, this three hundred year-old canal which serpents through the heart of France's oldest and largest wine region has everlasting appeal.
